#What is this blog?

| 5 MIN READ
Feature coming soon...

I finally did it.

I’ve had the idea of starting a blog for a couple of years, but I’ve never found the inspiration to actually do it. And I guess being a perfectionist doesn’t help either… To give you an idea, I’ve spent the last two weeks working on this blog because I couldn’t (or didn’t want to) find a suitable template. So of course I HAD to create the full website from scratch. I’m laughing while writing this, but honestly, I might as well be crying (kidding). Yeah, it’s that bad.

Either way, here we are. Me writing my first (almost) words on the internet, and you reading them. Hopefully you like what you see and stick around. Although, by the time you’re reading this, there might already be a lot more content.

As said, this is my first time posting (and even writing) a post on the internet, so bear with me… For context, this took ~2h to writeIn my defense, I fixed a few things and added a few others to the page as I was writing :|., yes, that much. I guess (hope) it only gets better from here.

Three quick notes before we continue.

None of my posts use AI, and none will (same thing for my GitHub). I know it’s sad to even say it, but it’s 2026 (already?) and I’m sure you’re as tired as I am with all the AI-bullshit publications that are posted on LinkedIn. This isn’t about avoiding AI entirely, it is about ownership. Let that sink in. (Was this a good AI imitation? I certainly hope so -_-)

I’ll limit my use of emojis as much as humanly possible. Not because LLMs loves them (well, maybe a bit), but because I’ve started to like the old-school emojis EXTERNAL LINK TO:

more.

All posts will be written in English first and then translated (by me) into Spanish. If you spot some minor differences between the two, that’s why.

As you can read on the blog’s subtitle, the main concept around this blog is:

Thoughts and write-ups on malware, reversing, and whatnotWhatnot can include almost anything, but the focus is malware-related stuff: maldev, reversing, exploit development, internals, you name it..

So, what is it? It’s my attempt at forcing myself to commit to something, but also to:

  • “document” my journey learning all things malware from a beginner’s perspective
  • organize my thoughts and put them into writing
  • improve my writing in a more “relaxed” setting (tired of writing docs at work >_<)
  • learn deeply about a specific topic so that I can put it into words
  • and the most important one: push myself to learn, investigate, be curious, and share

Don’t worry, this isn’t an entry-style blog where I post every little thing I learn. I’ll post at least twice a month, and the posts will be focused, to the point, but most importantly, interesting enough to keep you reading.

Okay, okay, but who are you, you might be wondering.

If you insist… I’m a senior cybersec professional (3+ years) working on the blue team-side-of-things: DevSecOps, vulnerability management, security automation, cloud sec, etc.

I landed at this side of the fence by chance.

One year before finishing my bachelor’s, I was looking for internship opportunities, did some interviews, and the only security-related offerI’ve always been interested in cybersec, but I wasn’t actually doing anything about it. I had to push myself into it. I got was from my current company, so that’s where I went. I was assigned to the DevSecOps team, and before I even had time to process my internship, I got hired to work for the most amazing client you can imagine.

Fast forward to today, as you can probably guess, I’m still on that same team and client. Over the last 2 years, I’ve felt that my current path (i.e. DevSecOps) wasn’t quite for me–that my real passion in cybersec was still out there, waiting for me to find it. And I finally did, about four months ago.

In October (2025), I applied for my dream position and scheduled an interview. I was pumped and for the next two weeks, I spent my afternoons revisiting C, OS (Linux) internals and memory concepts. However, even though I’d honestly say I did pretty well overall, I did not get the job :(.

Still, that interview gave something really valuable: MY PASSION. Those two weeks helped me figure out what I truly love and want to focus on. The fact that you’re reading this right now is thanks to that too, so big kudos to my two interviewers. One day (hopefully in a few years), I’ll be there working with you, bet.

Now that this blog is live, I only have to worry about two things: learning and posting. I’ll try to do the latter in a non-perfectionist way, but I can’t promise anything :’‑). What I can promise, though, is consistency. Expect at least two post a month, probably more; quality over quantity, always. If you made it this far, thanks! Writing is an interesting art, and something I’ve only done once in my entire lifeThat’s a story for another time. In short, I wrote a short fictional piece, about 20 pages long, following the life of an ordinary person from birth to death, and everything in between. I’ll share it with the world one day, but for now, I’m keeping it in my vault.. I’m not counting documentation, though, I’ve written plenty of that…
